PowerPoint Overhaul

The presentation up for editing was in pretty rough shape. Not only was it difficult to read, it lacked personality and for that reason it didn't grab my interest at all. Here are five things I did to change that:

1- First thing was I chose a cohesive background for all of the slides to simplify and unify the presentation.

2- I chose to make the font readable by making it bigger, and choosing basic colours that showed up well in contrast to the background.

3- I added a title page to the presentation to let students prepare themselves for the lesson they are about to dive into. It also allows the presenter to set up their introduction with a visual aid.

4- I added pictures throughout the slideshow to add some visual interest to the presentation.

5- I added more slides to the presentation as a way to split up the content, and make it easier to fit less text on each slide.

Tech and Me: Up to This Point

I would not consider myself tech savvy in any way, and my use of technology in the classroom is reflective of that fact. As a student I have presented a few projects via PowerPoint, but I tend to shy away from that option in favour of different presentation styles. I can honestly say in the little teaching I have done, I have never used technology to assist my lessons (yet). Seeing that technology is becoming more and more relevant in today's classrooms, I do worry about integrating my style of teaching into the technological methods available. I hope that this class will help me become more familiar with methods and tools that I am currently not aware of, and teach me how they can be incorporated into lessons and presentations comfortably!
